A Glimpse from the Past
It was early 2008, and XFCE was at version 4.4.2. Distros such as Zenwalk, Vector, Wolvix, GoblinX, KateOS, SAM Linux, and Mandriva, were still with us. I just rediscovered an old PDF of mine.

I used to have Vector (5.8) on my Dell laptop. I think it was based on Slackware 11. Broadcom wireless on the laptop was relatively easy to get working using ndiswrapper, at the time (ndiswrapper broke after kernel 2.6.24). I had MS WORD and Excel running using Wine. Slackware 11 itself was on my desktop machine. 11 was the fastest version of slack ever, IMHO. But I liked the vers. of XFCE on Slackware 12 and Vector better. Wolvix was the best looking, as I recall.
