I released two new versions of my Comic Strip Browser one after another the same day. That’s because 1.1.2 added 6 new strips, but 1.1.3 had to remove an older one, so in the end there are 20 comic strip titles in the last version.

To start with the last change: I removed Wizard of Id Classics because GoComics stopped publishing it on Oct. 31. It was a reprint, anyway, so everything is somewhere in the past of Wizard of Id.

I hesitated to add Mother Goose and Grimm by Mike Peters, because I’m not sure whether he’s illiterate, or if he’s becoming senile. Let me show some examples.

He’s posting his strips first on Facebook, at a higher resolution and with enormous top and bottom white strips (I suppose these are “the originals” sent for syndication), and only then they show up on GoComics.

Sometimes, the originals have spelling or grammar errors on FB. They get corrected on GoComics, but never on FB. Why are people commenting there, if the author couldn’t care less?!

2025/02/04, on Facebook (still wrong as I write this):

For fuck’s sake, “its” is a single word here, you illiterate nincompoop!

2025/02/04, on GoComics (corrected):

2025/03/08, on Facebook (still wrong as I write this):

Are you becoming senile? It’s spelled YOUR, not YOU’RE!

2025/03/08, on GoComics (corrected):

Then, he occasionally forgets he has used the same joke a couple of months before, albeit slightly differently. Case in point: 2024/11/11 vs. 2025/02/12:

3 months later…

After weeks of hesitations, I decided to add the strip (after all, someone gets the strips corrected on GoComics!), and on the same occasion I added some more (Glenn McCoy, author of and The Duplex and The Flying McCoys, also needed some careful consideration, as he’s a rabid Republican, but the works have prevailed over the person). I’m such a nice guy! 😉
