While I abhor OpenClaw for reasons I won’t list here, there are some advantages of it over more traditional agentic AI workflows. To oversimplify, let’s say it’s a shift from deterministic workflows to cognitive autonomy. But how could anyone hope to understand the fundamentals of the architecture behind OpenClaw—not the “Lobster Craze,” because in China OpenClaw is nicknamed “The Lobster” (龙虾, Long Xia)—if they don’t grasp the basics of agentic AI? If in China people “raise lobsters” (养龙虾, yang long xia), shouldn’t we first know more about the fish that’s now in danger of being eaten by lobsters?
