Claude Sonnet 4.5 is now available to anyone! Read the official announcement: Introducing Claude Sonnet 4.5. Have some nice marketing images, too:

From what I could see as a free user in a browser, the choice is as follows:

  • As a free user, I can still choose between Sonnet 4.5 and Sonnet 4.
  • As a free user, I can choose between Opus 4.1 and Opus 4, limited to 3 queries per week.
  • Nothing else is free, which is dumb in the case of Haiku 3.5, which was the fallback model for free users when Sonnet 3.5 or Sonnet 3.7 experienced a high load. But since Sonnet 4, it cannot be selected by free users anymore.

For the time being, free users cannot select the model in the apps for Android and iOS! Their only choice is Sonnet 4.5.

As stupid as each and every LLM is, I still have 12 of them bookmarked in a browser, and also installed as apps on Android (except for Z.ai, which is a shortcut).

I hope I won’t find Sonnet 4.5 dumber than Sonnet 4. Just saying.
