Free AI coding agents are becoming scarce
Once again, I had this post in drafts for a week! It's time to put it in a readable form. ① Artificial Idiocy at work?② Interlude #1: No Gemma, no…
Agentic AI 101 with Tina Huang
While I abhor OpenClaw for reasons I won’t list here, there are some advantages of it over more traditional agentic AI workflows. To oversimplify, let’s say it’s a shift from…
Why do they still not explain AI properly?
There are three kinds of people on Earth. Monkeys who use chatbots, monkeys who pretend to explain how they work, so some other monkeys believe they understand, and the few…
AI Quickie: How strict are Arab countries compared to Iran?
Since the Islamic Revolution, the regime in Iran has been seen as extremely strict and oppressive: Sharia, fewer rights for women, the Ayatollah as the supreme leader that overrides the…
Sam Altman in India, and other AI news
❶ The Indian Express hosted a Q&A session with Sam Altman, OpenAI's CEO. As usual, this lunatic has proven his brain damage. The most discussed and criticized answer was the…
Gemini vs. Fran Blanche + BONUS: crazy units
I don't like Fran Blanche. For someone who's a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), her videos are incredibly shallow. Five years ago, Fran made…
The law says you’re responsible for the snow on sidewalks. Why?
There is a thing that bothers me in “civilized countries”: if someone breaks their neck while on a public sidewalk that you don’t own, you’re the one at fault if…

“Let's imagine the following scenario. Ten years from now, the world will have had a generalization of GenAI in all forms, and people will almost exclusively acquire information from AI…
Șase scurte note despre AI
Firește, nu este doar impresia mea că LLM-urile astea de uz general devin tot mai stupide. Probabil că sunt mai mulți factori care contribuie la acest fenomen, de la „AI…
A practical everyday puzzle: will AI solve it?
Here's a genuine problem, as per the drawing: A person who shopped at a supermarket is at point A. They could go take the bus either from the bus stop…
My chatbot use in the last week
In the last seven days, I needed to use several chatbots for personal reasons (no coding or anything) slightly more intensively than usual, and I was curious with regard to…
Google’s “nano-banana” & some Nvidia shit
I wasn't aware of Gemini's upgraded image editing capabilities based on Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (aka nano-banana), “our state-of-the-art image generation and editing model.” It was announced on their blog,…
🤖 Gemini CLI is a hit-and-miss
The other day, I stumbled over this news: Google releases Gemini CLI with free Gemini 2.5 Pro. Now, of course, the real information is that I should head to github.com/google-gemini/gemini-cli…
Cât de inutil poate fi AI
Sorry for posting this in Romanian, but it should be machine-translatable quite well. OK, să zicem că aud o melodie la radio, iar Shazam o identifică astfel (SoundHound nu găsește…

A couple of days ago, in Ars Technica: Hidden AI instructions reveal how Anthropic controls Claude 4. This is about the independent AI researcher Simon Willison having published a detailed…
The questionable industry of online AI training gig jobs
Let me start by abruptly inserting the text that I fed some chatbots with. It goes as follows: Years ago, various online jobs that didn't require much expertise bar a…
